Joy In The House of the Lord!
This past Sunday we had our second preview service, and all I can say is “God is good!”
The day that we were able to secure the new venue, I remember walking into it for the first time and seeing row after row of empty chairs. It was an exciting and humbling experience to pray in that moment for God to one day fill those chairs with people joyfully singing out praises to His name.
The Lord heard our prayer and blessed us with a near capacity crowd on Sunday! There were over 100 people, half being new to Our Savior, and around 30 children. My favorite part was at the end, when the kids came up and helped lead us in singing the closing song together. We were intentional in keeping the kids in service with us the whole time (with a few age-appropriate ideas). I heard from a few families who have never worshiped alongside their kids before just how much they enjoyed it (even to their own surprise!) They said they know their kids are going to want to come back next, already asking us when the next service was going to be.
This core team has been working tirelessly to remove any potential hurdle to the hearing of the Gospel, and it was a blessing to watch them eagerly invite their friends, neighbors, and co-workers to come and witness all that God has been able to accomplish. I am thankful for each of them, and couldn’t imagine where our journey would be without them on it.
We will continue that journey with our final couple of Core Team meetings, starting back up this week. We are taking the survey results and preparing for our final preview service, which will be on a Sunday morning this time, March 17th at 10:30 a.m. Then we will launch for good on Easter Sunday with two services, 8:30 and 10:30.
In other words, “God is good!”
